time where have you gone
zooming by pass me in such a rush
as i stand still admiring
the stars at night
and the birth of leaves in the spring light
can you hold on
can you stand still and not age
as you diminish and dismiss another life
your cruelty without a dread
yet others will argue
time heals all wounds, making you a saint
but maybe i have it all wrong
you are not to blame here
as you’re not really real
i gave you too much credit for my burden
my flame doesn’t extinguish with the wind
as the time carries on
a malleable measure without a start
and i refuse to be your end
